Chinese airlines carried up to 2.55 million passengers during the two-day Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival Holiday from September 26-27, according to preliminary statistics released by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on September 28.
Specifically, about 20,000 flights were operated during the holiday, transporting 1.33 million passengers on September 26 and 1.22 passengers on September 27. Hot travel destinations include Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Lhasa, Urumqi, Yinchuan, Jinghong, Lijiang, Haikou and other provincial capitals and tourism cities.
