Embraer is showcasing two of its executive jets at the fourth edition of Abu Dhabi Air Expo, slated for March 08 to 10 in the United Arab Emirates capital. The event will be held at the Al Bateen Airport, which handles executive flights, featuring manufacturers, airlines, pilot schools, executive aviation services and airport operators.
Embraer said in a press release that the Middle East is one of the major markets for executive aviation and boasts one of the world’s newest fleets in this segment of the industry. Since the Brazilian manufacturer established its executive jets division in 2005, 20% of all jets of the type sold in that region were Embraer’s.
Last year, the Brazilian company announced agreements for the sale of up to 17 Phenom 100E units, for pilot training purposes, to Etihad Airways, from Abu Dhabi, and Emirates Airline, from Dubai. A Lebanese company purchased one Legacy 500 and an Emirati one bought a Legacy 650.
At the expo, the Brazilian aircraft maker will exhibit its Legacy 500 and Legacy 650. The former can carry up to 12 passengers and has a 5,788 km flight range. The latter has capacity for 14 passengers and a 7,200 km range, enough to travel from Abu Dhabi to Singapore, for instance.
