Embraer and Japan Airlines have strengthened their long-standing collaboration through a new multi-year agreement under Embraer’s Pool Program, ensuring continued maintenance, repair, and spare-parts support for JAL’s fleet of 32 E170 and E190 aircraft. The renewed agreement covers a broad range of repairable components for the airline's E-Jet fleet, helping to maintain high levels of aircraft availability and operational reliability. As part of the solution, Embraer will provide access to an extensive inventory of components strategically positioned near the airline’s operations, enabling faster turnaround times and reducing the risk of service disruptions.
E-Jets have been a key part of J-Air’s regional network since entering service in 2008, supporting vital air connectivity across Japan. The extension of the Pool Program agreement reflects the shared commitment of Embraer and Japan Airlines to operational excellence, fleet efficiency, and the continued development of regional air services throughout the country. Demonstrating the effectiveness of the partnership, Japan Airlines’ E-Jet fleet has achieved an impressive six-month average service reliability rate of 99.8%.
Yuta Kawaguchi, Executive Officer, Vice President, JAL Engineering Co. Ltd, Material & Component Services commented: “Through this contract renewal with Embraer, we reinforce our commitment to securing high-quality components and, above all, ensuring the absolute safety of our flight operations. Building on our trusted relationship with Embraer, we look forward to driving further operational excellence and delivering a highly reliable travel experience for our passengers.”
Carlos Naufel, President and CEO, Embraer Services & Support stated: "We are proud to further strengthen our long-standing relationship with Japan Airlines through this agreement. Through our Pool Program, we are committed to providing the reliability, responsiveness and operational support needed to maximise the E-Jets’ performance."
Embraer has maintained a presence in the Asia-Pacific region for nearly five decades, with its first aircraft entering service there in 1978. Today, more than 15 airlines across seven APAC countries operate E-Jets, underscoring the region's importance to the manufacturer’s global business.
To support its growing customer base, Embraer has developed a robust regional support network designed to bring aftermarket services closer to airline operations. This ecosystem includes dedicated Embraer personnel located near key customer hubs, a Regional Distribution Centre holding more than US$120 million in inventory, E1 and E2 full-flight simulators, and a network of authorised service centres across the region.
Together, these capabilities enable Embraer to deliver fast, reliable and efficient support, helping operators maximize fleet availability and maintain high levels of operational performance throughout the Asia-Pacific market.
