TARMAC Aerosave has just been awarded double accreditation by the AFRA (Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association) for dismantling and recycling, with "diamond" level for key performance indicators. Committed from the outset to developing innovative aircraft and engine dismantling and recycling processes, TARMAC Aerosave has also been appointed to the AFRA Board of Directors.

Following an audit carried out by the American association, TARMAC Aerosave received accreditation for both aircraft dismantling and complete recycling activities. This double recognition is complemented by the highest level of distinction-- namely "diamond"--for expertise in key performance indicators. AFRA is a worldwide organization bringing together all aircraft lifecycle stakeholders: aircraft manufacturers, OEM, leasing companies, recycling companies, maintenance centres, etc.

Alexandre Brun, President of TARMAC Aerosave, commented: "Recently, AFRA has made substantial improvements to its guide to good practice, and raised the standards of our profession, in particular by implementing a new system of key performance indicators that better reflects operators' skills. This played a key role in our decision to join AFRA."

The association defines best practices in terms of dismantling and recycling aircraft materials and components. It ensures that its members prioritise environmental awareness to the greatest extent possible, and that their feedback contributes to process innovation and improved circularity of parts and materials.

World leader in aircraft recycling, TARMAC Aerosave has been awarded the Diamond level for Key Performance Indicators, thanks to efficient management of the traceability of spare parts and materials through reliable recovery channels. TARMAC Aerosave is recognized for its three-stage procedure; removal of parts, greening of the cabin, airframe cutting, and works with the best industrial partners to send the sorted materials to recycling channels. TARMAC Aerosave also contributes to the dynamism of the used parts market. TARMAC Aerosave has officially joined AFRA as a member and has been appointed to the AFRA Board of Directors. Since 2007, TARMAC Aerosave has dismantled and recycled 370 aircraft and 205 engines.
